A perfect day provided many patriotic citizens the chance to meet new friends and stand together in support of our American Sheepdogs (Troops, Police, Firefighters, and EMT) and their vital missions.  At the end we gathered for our group photo and then sang the National Anthem while sisters Nicole and Tammy held the Flag to honor America and their brother Greg, who is a Marine officer serving in Afghanistan.

We always take time to pray for those who protect us.  We are honored to have so many military family members join us every Saturday at High and Market St in West Chester from 11AM till Noon.

A West Chester University student was driving by and thanked us – his brother is in the Army and just returned home from Afghanistan.

For the past 2 years we have continued a tradition of passing our “Salute The Troops” coin from one to another.  It’s gives us an opportunity to recognize someone and get to know each other a little better.   This week it went to Fred, a Sheepdog and member of the Warriors Watch Riders - a group of bikers that provide motorcycle escorts for service men and women and all our first responders (police, firefighters, and EMTs).

We were thrilled to have Colin Hanna in attendance.  Colin is the President of “Let Freedom Ring” a national organization that promotes Constitutional Government, Economic Freedom, and Traditional Values.  From their website, Let Freedom Ring was formed to counter the attacks of anti-conservative groups on patriotic candidates as well as attacks on the important issues of our day – those that affect the core of our society: the family, marriage, the economy, energy, abortion, health care and foreign policy, to name just a few.

Thanks again to all who took the time to come out and stand together for America, our Flag, and our Troops. 

After the rally I went to my mom’s house to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family.  We also celebrated Mom’s 86th birthday – she is the greatest patriot I know and she is doing well, often attends our rallies where she enjoys the chance to meet so many great Americans. I miss my dad, he was an Army veteran, a great provider and man, and I know he is watching over us and is proud.

Family traditions, watching our kids grow up, and being able to share memories and make new ones at holidays are things we like to do when we’re not on the corner supporting our heroes who make all our good times possible.

Thank You Troops.   Thank You Military Families.

Without the sacrifice of our troops, past and present, we could not be here today to celebrate with our families and friends.  Our prayers and hearts are with them everyday.  We ask God to be with them, give them the power, courage, and wisdom they need to successfully complete their missions and defeat those who want to harm America.  We ask God to be in our hearts as we go about our daily lives, let us be good, productive, and patriotic citizens.  We are thankful for all our gifts and blessings.  Thanks to all our parents and teachers who taught us to love America and not blame it.

Thanksgiving Day Message to the Troops

 Our tradition of Thanksgiving reminds us each November of the settlers who came to the shores of America some four centuries ago to build a new society. In the years since, millions more have crossed continents and oceans in pursuit of the promise of freedom that was founded on the edge of that vast wilderness.
Today, as in other eras, that freedom is under assault. But once again, we are fortunate to count as Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors and Marines men and women willing to step forward to defend freedom. Wherever you are — with your families at home or deployed overseas — know that on this Thanksgiving, Americans are praying for your safety and giving heartfelt thanks to you and to your loved ones for your service.
Reflecting back on World War II, Winston Churchill said, “We gave thanks to God for the noblest of all His blessings, the sense that we had done our duty.”
One day you will similarly look back on these challenging times, and know that you did your duty — and that you served with the same dedication shown by generations past who have defended their family’s and our nation’s freedom from the totalitarians and tyrants who have threatened it.
On this day of Thanksgiving, we offer our prayers and give thanks to the men and women of the Armed Forces, who each day stand watch against those who would harm us. May God bless and protect you. And may God continue to bless our wonderful country.

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor – and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.”

One of the benefits of being retired military is the ability to visit bases and spend time with our heroes.  I spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Navy Base in Norfolk, VA.  I couldn’t take photos of the ships, but I did get some pictures of our troops.  You can tell by their smiles that they are happy to be home to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends.  I met sailors, pilots, and Marines from all over the USA.  They looked sharp and are willing to do whatever it takes to win.  They need our political leaders to let them fight to win.   Our troops deserve to be treated with the same love and respect that they have for us and our country.

Thanks to all our troops and civilians serving our country.  You are all heroes, and as you fight the fight for freedom, you are not alone.  We stand behind you every week in West Chester, Pa – proud of all you do for us.  Our troops give up their tomorrows so that we can enjoy our todays.  We wish you success in all your missions.

Today, our Victory movement helped supplement a Pro-Life rally that came out to counter a NOW (National Organization of Women – a far-left group) demonstration against Congressman Joe Pitts because he wants to make sure that taxpayer money is never used to fund abortions.  Thanks to all the decent people who came out to counter the radical members and local politicians who stood behind NOW.  We, the Chester County Victory Movement are proud to support our troops and stand behind Congressman Pitts.  Over 200 people showed up to counter NOW and demand that taxpayers don’t ever have to pay for someone’s abortion.  NOW had about 75 left-wingers, including Barb McIlvaine Smith and admitted socialist Karen Porter and her Chester County Peace Socialist Movement.  At noon we all sang the Star Spangled Banner and said a prayer for our troops, our country, and the unborn.

Thanks to all who made it happen.

 The far-left in our neighborhoods and in politics have awakened a sleeping giant.  Decent Americans are coming out and standing together.  The Pelosi/Harry Reid congress can try to jam unpopular and socialist programs down our throats in 2009, but mainstream Americans will show them the door in 2010.

  As our troops fight the fight for freedom, they are not alone.

With the massacre of Fort Hood fresh in our minds. Patriotic Americans came out to stand behind our troops.  Our troops were assassinated in a sneak attack by a freelance Islamic Jihadist who killed them in cold blood.  Our hearts go out to the families and friends.  The men and women (and 1 baby) killed were victims of political correctness, which kept this jihadist in our Army.   We need to protect our troops, not the enemy.

Another rainy Saturday,  another large turnout of patriots proudly showing support for our troops, our country, and our flag.  Thanks to all you decent people for making it happen.  Our troops deserve our praise and prayers for their protection and complete success in their missions.
