Flag Day Rally, Best Yet – Thanks To All

Filed under: Rallies — Sean @ 5:28 pm

Thanks to everyone who came out today – the group shot has 155 people in it, and we had some others in addition to that.  Thanks to Gathering of Eagles and Warrior’s Watch for their indispensable help and turnout.

We had a couple ride up from Orlando (!) to make our rally.  We additionally had people from Baltimore, New Jersey, and from the surrounding counties in Pennsylvania.  Thanks go to everyone who showed up, I was honored to be associated with this great day!

My shots are up and posted here.

  8. I still have a smile on my face because of the memories of today. We were great and perfect. We washed the other side out just like I knew we would. We had the bagpipes playing wonderful Patriotic music, the Knights of Columbus gentlemen who came out in those hot uniforms for us, for our Flag. We had people from all over who are proof that the greatness of our country is alive and well. We are giving voice to others, and finding their voice has given us all such incredible freedom. I don’t even want to speak or bother acknowledging the other side, they are insignificant. We are the obvious VICTORS, in this COLD WAR we are fighting. Today proved that. We are growing in numbers and because of our spirit, others want to join us. Today, my daughter-in-law told me that on the weekends when Pete isn’t working he wants to come stand with us because he thinks we are a wonderful, passionate, caring, proud-of-America group of people….HOOAH!!! We are always smiling and having fun. That about sums us up. He also said that our love of our country is contagious and he feels an intense pride at being an American that he took for granted before. He said that he kept getting choked up. My daughter-in-law told me that she knows more about America than she ever did because our rallies have encouraged her to learn more about her country (She also said that my spirited debates with my liberal son piqued her interest, she wanted to understand better what we were talking about). That is the message we want to send out, and there is the proof that the message is getting across loud and clear. I am honored to stand with you guys every week, but today was so special and magnificant. You must be busting at the seam, Rich, kudos to you!!!

  9. Flag Day in West Chester was a true red white and blue experience, patriotism was so alive you could feel it! Dee is correct, it is contagious and hopefully it will infect many more to come out each week with us! Additionally, it was an honor to meet some of the people we read in blogs, and it was an honor that so many people joined us on our special flag day. God bless all for those who worked so hard to make it such a great event, and thanks to all who took photos, Neo and Sean, the bloggers Skye etc, Wow.I know I slept with a smile on my face! Thanks Rich, for bringing us all together, and inspiring us to be better Americans!

  12. Dee,

You’re right. A lot of Americans take our way of life for granted, do not understand the sacrifice it took and how easily we could lose it all. Constant vigilance is the price of freedom.

That came to me as was were in the Knights of Columbus. While I was growing up, events like Saturday were common place. As a band member in grade school through even after college, there was always a commitment for Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Nobody had to say, “Freedom isn’t free” as you watched those who had fought unselfishly remember those who fought and never came home.

Even on Veterans Day, you never sensed that any Veteran marching had a selfish “Honor me for my service” chip on their shoulder. The parade was just a prelude to the day’s focus, the service at the local memorial to the fallen. There were American flags, reverant silence during the ceremony and a common purpose to thank those who gave their all for everything we have.

Yesterday was a wake up call that we can not stand by and let the wacko fringe of a free society lead us down the path to slavery. We have the right to free speech too and I will actively use that against the domestic enemy in this war to keep our freedoms.

  13. That’s an eloquent post, Raoul. I was filled with pride yesterday. The bagpipes were moving. It feels great to be able to express our views on the most important challenge the nation faces.

  14. Okay, I’ve posted the first of three planned video’s of yesterday’s remarkable rally. You can view it at Blip TV:

    http://blip.tv/file/995119

I would characterize the CCPM’s faux flag day event as a complete failure. Oh, the peacniks are now going back to the tired mantra of domestic survellance on our membership:

    http://lists.wayreth.net/pipermail/peace/2008-June/003395.html

I agree, John – I’ll ask the Steering Committee by copy of this – send me
stuff you THINK WE SHOULD SHARE WITH THE LIST ABOUT THESE FOLKS. We will shine
as much light as possible w/out appearing obsessed with them (as they are
with us) – just perhaps “Reports on the Militarists” or something like that – I
think we can counter this group by making sure all our people know exactly
who they are. Periodically, I can issue an e-mail about “what this group is up
to” – esp. focusing on any politcal connections.

    WE WON’T BE SWIFTBOATED!!!

    Karen et al,

I have seen enough of it before. It is straight out of the republican
rovian book of political smear tactics. We have seen this tactic in the past.
It is being pulled out, dusted off and reapplied not only against the Chester
County Peace Movement but also against the Democratic nominee for president,
Barack Obama. The links between Rich Davis, Skye, Dee, Karl, etc. of the
Chester County Victory Movement with the Republican Party should be documented
and put out to the public for all to realize that this mentality is what
brings us endless war and senseless killings and wasted billions of taxpayer
    money.

    John Hellmann

I’m all for shining the light on truth. Let us take a closer look at the connection betweeen the CCPM and VFP (Chapter 31 Philadelphia), in the video below you will recognize a member of the VFP saluting Chavez.

  16. According to KP in the Daily Local, we are the fringe, don’t you know. She said in her comment that we have used the flag to represent what it does not stand for or some such nonsense as that, I don’t recall the exact words; however, I just shook my head at another example of her amazing stupidity. Does she even know what the Flag stands for? I don’t think so or she would see that we use the Flag for what it is suppose to stand for, it is they who corrupt and disgrace our Flag with their flags. The Flag stands for freedom, so do we, and we honor the message of the Flag and all those who died, served, and those who show love for their country in other deeds and actions they perform, as evidenced by the increasing number of organizations formed to support our troops, which in essence, is supporting and honoring our Flag. We need a louder wake-up call to motivate even more groups speaking against those who would destroy our country. Doesn’t KP wonder why the terrorist groups support her candidate of choice? Doesn’t that scare her that these vile people want Obama/Osama as president? Oh, that is right, she is vile, too. Like attracts like.

  17. Have to hand it to you, Karen. You’re consistent. Once again you give a bewildering ‘explanation’ as to why you wave the flag of a nation you don’t like, soldiers you won’t support and a freedom you won’t fight for.

“We encouraged people to bring American flags…in order to distinguish ourselves from (the victory movement).”

Yeah, right, Karen! Merely by touching Old Glory with your sweaty hands gives you the Harry Potter-ability to magically transform it into the exact opposite of what it means.

Please, Karen, for the love of God, check your medical insurance to see if it covers badly-needed medication. Because, if the above ‘explanation’ is anything to go by, you’re only one step away from wearing tin foil on your head.

  19. Skye,

All of a sudden John Hellman is John Ashcroft to Karen Porter’s Aberto Gonzolez.

They are certifiably nuts to make an issue of anyone’s party preference whan they have so much self-indicting evidence of their political partisanship on their blogs and email messages. Like I said, their hate makes them blind to even the most obvious things they do wrong.

Once again Porter shows her ignorance. Thought the State Representative might consider being called a Congressman a compliment. But then again, when is comes from a fool it loses something in translation.

  20. Skye,

This is great, now we’re collecting checks each week from Halliburton, Blackwater and the GOP. And you’re even on Everhgreen’s payroll. Can you get me sponsored there too?

How about we hop down to GITMO Wednesday for the day, a little sunbathing, volleyball, sking, waterboarding, maybe a little parasailing?

    Comment by Raoul — June 15, 2008 @ 6:42 pm

  21. It must be killing Porter that we have the momentum. Reminds me of Rocky fighting Drago (we’re Rocky).

  24. It is imperative that we stand there each and every Saturday morning.

God bless us in our efforts.

  25. Wow, and the loons keep marching on. Paid GOP militarists? Us? Did she see how many women and children were in attendance? I can’t understand why it is so hard for them to see the truth. Did they grow up in Venezuela? Did they grow up in Castro’s Cuba? Have they never been to an American parade, where everyone was patriotic to America, and no one was shouting or whining about impeaching a president? I know I saw many a parade as a kid, a teenager and an adult. And the rally in West Chester reminded me of those. Happy patriots alike, men, women and children. I did my best not to glance across the street too much, so as to preserve the beauty of the day.
Cut us a break, she doesn’t care for the America we know. She’s lost her mind, and the evil vortex of her whirlpool is sucking a lot of folks down the drain with her. God bless them, hopefully they will wake up before it’s too late!
