DEMOCRAT COMMITTEE PEOPLE AND CCPM MEMBERS PLAN TO DO A “MASSIVE NEGATIVE” LITERATURE DROP AGAINST CONSERVATIVE SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES
Opponents of the conservative candidates running for WCASD (West Chester Area School District) are planning to plant “negative lit” against the Republican candidates in this year’s November election for school board.
On Sunday, Sept 13 at 8PM, I received an email from Brian McGinnis, who is against the conservatives running for local office. In the email he says they are having a meeting to plan a “massive negative lit drop” and “We need to bring up the negatives and show the people in East Bradford just how right wing these candidates really are.”
How did I get this email from Brian?
Because the people who sent it, must have confused me with someone else (someone who has the same name as me. Although we have the same name, we are different, he is a regular participant of the Chester County Peace Movement demonstrations at the courthouse. He’s a photographer by trade, he’s also a Democrat Committeeperson in Precinct North 2 in East Bradford. My guess is they intended the email to go to that Davis, and not me. (update: he goes by Rick, I go by Rich).
The email is damning. It is solid proof that certain people are going to hit below the belt and try to defame and smear conservatives that they don’t want elected. It’s despicable and must be exposed.
A couple hours later (at 10PM on Sept 13), I received a follow-up email from ”Fred Rothman” replying to Brian’s plan to drop negative literature in the neighborhood of Mark Pimley (Maria Pimley is running for school board as a republican).
Fred Rothman is a Democrat Committeeperson in Precinct South 1 in East Bradford. Rothman says, “It’s the candidates we need to attack.”
Rothman talks about Mark Pimley and dropping literature ”defaming him (& his wife)” for hosting a “fundraiser for the “R’s” school board campaign.”
Fred Rothman goes on to give Mark Pimley’s address and even provides a link to a google-map pointing out exactly where Mark Pimley’s house is. (in the email I have removed the coordinates of the address to protect the Pimley privacy)
Maria Pimley is running for West Chester School Board. She’s a republican and is a Doctor of Optometry with Chester County Opticians. She’s also an Adjunct Instructor at the Pennsyvania College of Optometry at Salus University, teaching students going for their masters and doctoral. She has 2 children in Glen Acres Elementary and 1 preschooler. She’s also a Cub Scout den leader and Glen Acres Volunteer.
Rothman says he is willing to fund the literature, he says he would “afford a fair share of the cost if that’s decided that that’s what should be done.”
For the record, campaign literature must contain, by law, who is paying for it, whether it be a mailing, a literature drop, a newpaper ad, a poster, a TV or radio commercial. It’s required to specify who paid for it.
Rothman says at their meeting that they have agreed to “start the negative stuff in about 4½-5 weeks with a targeted mailing, certain WC wards & other specific precincts.” (4-5 weeks would be in mid-October, a couple weeks before the Nov 3rd election).
This is despicable and shows how desperate the Democrats are. And it speaks volumes about the agenda of members of the Chester County Peace Movement.
Instead of running on the issues these Democrats want to use smear tactics to defame people.
The 4 republican candidates (Adsett, Carpenter, Pimley, and Wingerter) are running on fiscal responsibility. They want to keep the taxpayers costs down. They want to provide accountability and full disclosure. They want to emphasize their positions on the key issues.
These Democrat Committee people (and one Chairman) want to spend money and time circulating negative information about the Republican candidates.
I put the emails in cronological order. Brian McGinnis sent the first one followed by Fred Rothman’s.

I have talked about the plan to do a massive negative lit drop in Mark Pimley’s precint and think we need to do that this weekend. Most likely Friday night or Saturday. We need to bring up the negatives and show the people in East Bradford just how right wing these candidates really are. Let me know what you guys think.

I would afford a fair share of the cost if that’s decided that that’s what should be done. Are we certain about a date of when the fundraiser is?Below is the actual location of the Pimley home, so limiting a mailing/lit drop to the adjacent neighbors would have to be determined. 100, 200, 500, Dems, soft “R’s”, Ind.???http://maps.google.com/maps (coordinates removed for privacy)FmR

These people wanted to do this in the shadows, in the dark, but by fate, they made a mistake and included me on their emails. Now they are being expossed. Sunlight is the best disinfectent.
Let’s hope the Daily Local News and other newspapers will cover this. The citizens of Chester County have a right to know whats going on. Newspaper reporters have an important responsibility to the community. To inform readers that this type of thing is happening, and who is behind it. This is major news at the local level at least.
Contact – Andy Hachadorian, Daily Local News Editor, 610-430-1116, andyh@mail.dailylocal.com and ask them to cover this.
Will the Daily Local ask the tough questions? What does the Chester County Democrat Headquarters have to say about this? Is this the type of officials we want in West Chester? Or anywhere in America? This is wrong, it’s dirty, and it needs to be cleaned up. Corruption knows no bounds, be it on a national level with ACORN or the NEA or here in West Chester, Pa.
The public deserves to know the truth. The paper plays a role in our society and this story must be told.

I’m not surprised by this. They lack honor. Maybe they’ll join hands with ACORN to disgrace themselves completely. -Mike K.

Good job Rich!! People sometimes find it hard to believe that this stuff actually goes on. I will also call the editor. Howard R.

Putting on my campaign operative hat, it might have been a better idea not to post on this subject. Letting them know you are on to them has less value than a suprise tactical response.
Also, something tells me they won’t make the mistake of sending anything else to the wrong Rich Davis again. You’ve lost that line of intel.

Isn’t defamation illegal? Count me in on contributions towards a lawsuit if the defamation occurs. We must fight theses Saul Alinski/ACORN tactics of these low life characters.

Mike’s America – I appreciate your thoughts but it does no good keeping this in a drawer for use later or waiting for more. Chances are they discovered their mistake. It was time to get it out.
The election will be here before we know it and the voters deserve to know the truth of what certain people are doing.
Let’s hope the papers find it newsworthy.
Comment by Rich Davis — September 22, 2009 @ 12:28 pm
Rich I actually know the person that sent this email and I can tell your first hand that this was done on purpose. He wants this information to get out because he knew you would post it on the website. I This article will bring this campaign negative attention. They are encouraging people to google the names of the school board candidates. The results are not good when doing that. It looks like you fell into hid trap. I would suggest to take this down ASAP!
Comment by Ed — September 22, 2009 @ 12:59 pm
Ed – I don’t think so. How are you so sure? I think they discovered that they made a mistake and confused me with Rick Davis.
Also – this isn’t grassroots people doing this. These people are democrat committee people, (one’s even a chairman) they are part of the Chester County Democrat Committee. They are the leaders. I might expect this from truly grassroots people, but not from the top of local party.
BTW, do I know you Ed?
I’m interested in how you are so sure this was done on purpose.
Why don’t you contact me so we can talk? I’d like to hear more.
Send me an email and we’ll get together or talk on the phone. richdavis53@comcast.net
Thanks

Yes. The press needs to get this. I would also call the Inquirer. Now we will finally find out ALL the truth!

To the “Sheepdogs,” — Always remember the role of the American Sheepdogs. As it was first explained to me, most of the people in the general population are “Sheep.” Then there are people that attack the sheep and kill them without mercy, the “Wolves”. Often the Sheep deny the Wolves exists or they think if you ignore the wolf, he won’t bother you. Then comes the Sheepdogs — the “Protectors of the Sheep.” They have heart and aren’t afraid to confront the wolf. Our troops are sheepdogs. Our CIA are sheepdogs. Anyone who works for truth and justice is a sheepdog.
I say it’s time to get the truth out. Show everybody what these Dems are up too. This is exactly what Rich is doing here.
To Mike’s America — To remain silent and wait for more, I don’t think is not a good idea. What Rich has done is a positive action.
To ED — So what if people Google the names of the school board candidates? I think the people who really care about elections at this level of politics are going to Google all of the candidates anyway.
Personally, I think these dumb a$$es made a mistake adding Rich to the list. I’m glad he’s exposing them for what they are.

Ok,so where is the negative piece that they put out?
Comment by Jimmy — September 22, 2009 @ 10:53 pm
Maybe I overlooked it in the blog post, but I didn’t see it mentioned that along with the others, Mr. McGinnis is also apparently a democrat committeeman, and additionally, a spokesman for the (D) schoolboard candidates.
http://www.dailylocal.com/articles/2009/08/06/news/srv0000006047463.prt
“…Brian McGinnis, the Democratic committeeman who is serving as spokesman for the Democratic school board candidates, said that he cares only that Davison’s replacement be chosen in a fair way.”
Maybe someone should ask the schoolboard candidates to comment about their spokesman’s plans.

To all, it looks we have been had. As Jimmy asked earlier, is there a negative literature piece that was sent out to the residents of East Bradford? It looks like they got us on this one. I am telling you I know the person that sent you the email and he would not have done this by accident.
Comment by Ed — September 23, 2009 @ 11:07 am
Ed – sorry but I completely disagree. You and Jimmy need to re-read the post. The Dems were talking about “starting the negative stuff in about 4 1/2 to 5 weeks, with a targeted mailing”. That puts it just a couple weeks before the election in November. So we’ll all have to wait and see if they go through with it. Notice, Rothman says they are focusing on a “targeted mailing” list. So the literature isn’t out yet, they were in the planning stage, we’ll have to wait to see it.

I cannot believe people would do that. It surely proves to the citizens that democrats will use propaganda and corruption campaign styles to win.
It looks like they are trying to take the short-cut by defaming the VOTE4GREATSCHOOLS campaign.
What does this tell us about their character? It tells us that if the democrats do win (and I will do everything I can to prevent that from happening) that they will not put the effort into helping our school district succeed.
In the end, the school district is a huge factor in our property value. VOTE4GREATSCHOOLS is the only campaign that I will support and this news makes me believe that even more.
Thank you for this post!

This is absolutely stunning. I know politics at any level can be dirty, but it’s very unusual to actually see proof of it. You typically aren’t privy to this sort of communication from the opposing side.
I find the use of words here very telling. It’s odd that one said what the “letter claims ” rather than what the letter points out as factual differences in policy. Of course both e-mails are wrong from an ethical and moral perspective, but one thing that jumps out at me, or the main thing that jumps out at me, is the use of the word “defame.” I was really taken aback by that. I already knew what the word meant, but I’m doing a direct copy and paste of some definitions.
Charge falsely or with malicious intent ; attack the good name and reputation of someone.
A false accusation of an offense or a malicious misrepresentation of someone’s words or actions.
Injury to a person’s character, fame, or reputation by false and malicious statements .
The act of damaging the reputation of a person or entity (such as a corporation) by the publication of false statements either by word of mouth (slander) or in a more permanent form (libel).
I wonder if the candidates this group is supporting are aware of their supporters’ behavior, or perhaps even condoning it. If so, they aren’t people I’d want to see making decisions that affect schools, or anything else for that matter.

The matter is very delicate. We could ruin this opportunity and many more. I think this should be investigated before making it viral. I sent it to Rep. Joe Pitts. I trust he will know the right thing to do since he has so much experience on campaigns.

Listen guys you have a great source of information. This is valuable in campaigns. You don’t want to loose it, you want to cultivate it. Use the information when it is most valuable like 1-2 weeks before the election. Date it. Store it. But don’t loose the source. Agree with them, task someone to keep in the loop no matter how discomfortable the action is. Keep the information flow on what THEY are doing and planning. Discuss it in private and plan when to use it. Using it may loose your source.
Write up a response and save it for when you can get the most out of it. Tossing a response out there right now and it will be forgotten for by the time of the election and it’s true usefullness can be implemented. Take it easy. Don’t worry about what THEY are doing have them chase YOUR message, not you chase their message, then use what you have collected to discredit them when it is most advantageous to YOU.
You guys should know this, it is intel, counter intel.
Good luck

“Ed” – you have left comments here before as “Bobby”. I know this because as the proprietor of the blog I can see everyone’s email address and I also get the ip addresses too.
Your email address is m.e.XX at something (I won’t give it). You are a classic troll, hiding behind your keyboard.
In the meantime, here’s an answer to your question. We are grateful for the sacrifice and training required of our troops, especially those enlisted and officers.
I am a veteran, most of us are veterans, and many of us have kids or family members in the service now or in past.
The CIC relies on his commanders in the field and Joint Chiefs to make the necessary decisions.
I guess we could hold a sign for him and it would say, “Listen to Gen McChrystal”. He is the commander in Afghanistan and he is requesting 40,000 more troops be deployed to Afghanistan within the next year or the mission will fail.
I personally think Obama should listen to him, unless he wants fail, and I don’t think he does. But who knows.
Obama said Afghanistan is the good war, so we’ll all have to wait and see what he does. In the meantime, maybe you’ll see a “Listen to Gen McChrystal” sign sometime.
Why don’t you contact me and we can have a civil discussion Ed/Bobby, the invitation remains open.
