Karen Porter – the Gift That Keeps On Giving

Filed under: Press — Sean @ 3:39 pm

Every Saturday afternoon, we stand guard in support of the United States of America and its troops acting on our behalf. We are there to honor them, to thank them, and to support them.

Karen Porter is the head of the Chester County “Peace” Movement, and has been on that corner for five years more doing the very opposite. In fact, it is her hate and her venom that pushed us like-minded patriots into action.

Over the course of the past month, we have been joined by community members in writing letters supporting our mission and exposing the hypocrisy of the CCPM. Thanks go to each and every one of those letter-writers, and I know there have been many more written than just those published. We need to continually let everyone see and hear about what we are doing each Saturday. We need to let other West Chester (and beyond) residents know that we stand for America, and we renounce the leftists who are trying to demoralize our troops and hurt our country.

As you read Karen’s letter, printed below, take note of not only what Karen says – but also what she does not. Dan Pourreau called the CCPM “bullies” and instigators. Rather than try to (falsely) claim the CCPM does not bully, notice how Karen simply responds with imagery (“Kill, kill, kill!”) and hyperbole (“we should all show up with assault weapons”). Ed Kurth wrote an article exposing the vitriol of the “Peace” activists, including how they assaulted one of our women. Karen responds with a vacuous argument that the woman wasn’t “young” – which she is, especially compared to the old man who assaulted her. She then claims to have never seen the shameful and shameless signs that her “Peace” protesters have held. It should be clear to everyone which side is doing the lying.

Director responds to recent letters

I have read, often with amusement, some of the “pro-victory-movement” letters in the past couple of weeks in your paper. Usually, I can just ignore them as either bald-faced lies or the writers’ very agile imaginations. However, two of them warrant brief responses. I find them so amusing that I can’t resist.

Dan Pourreau, as usual, has a very imaginative response to everything. As with Marie Antoinette, his usual attitude toward all those suffering masses is “Let them eat cake.”

But I digress. His bottom-line solution for the hatred we deal with every Saturday on the corner of High and Market appears to be that we should all show up with assault weapons and shoot it out. Wow! The Battle of the Bulge here in West Chester! The “OK Corral” no less! (Too many cowboy movies as a boy in France?)

He must also agree with comedian Rush Limbaugh, who is dreaming of violence at the Democratic convention this summer! What a great country these two envision for our children! Just shoot it out! Kill, kill, kill! Blood, blood, blood!

And Ed Kurth — not sure where to start. So he’s been to the vigils on “two occasions” — a quick-study expert, no less!

The Chester County Peace Movement has been on that corner, let’s see, over 270 Saturdays — and his “two occasions” have revealed to him the truth of all things! It was particularly amusing to read of the “young girl” he says was hit (was he there? If not, we have some films he might want to check out of that “young girl”). That “young girl” is a bit older than he infers — rather mature, in fact. That “young girl” has shoved her camera in my face many times — I was fortunately able to suppress all my own urges to push it out of my face. That “young girl” has taunted me relentlessly for six months, and I suggest Mr. Kurth read some of that “young girl’s” hateful blogs. He’s in for quite an education about “young girls.”

And about those “hate” signs he talks about — I’m not sure what vigils he sampled, but I’ve sure never seen them. And my “political motives,” wow! A mind-reader in our midst! I guess it’s inconceivable I could sincerely oppose a war based on lies and perfidy and involving the loss of thousands of innocent lives — must be “political motives.” I’d love to hear what those “political motives” are!

Mr. Kurth has a line into my brain that I sure haven’t tapped. Maybe he missed the counterprotesters’ “Defeat Socialism — Vote Republican” signs or the “Hillary is a Communist” T-shirts. But I guess that, if he attended only two vigils, he just might have missed all that. Mr. Kurth needs to get out more!

Someone asked me why the Daily Local publishes such blatant lies, and I answered that the newspaper isn’t in the business of fact-checking all letters (obviously). It’s our job to do that, so I am.

  1. Since Porter likes to quote Rush Limbaugh, I’ll include one of his quotes as well. I hope she likes it: “Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream.”

  2. Here’s the two LTEs that got Porter’s granny panties in a bunch.

Easy decision what side to choose, by Ed Kurth

Perhaps practice what you preach, by Dan Pourreau

There’s Porter’s letter and the letters themselves. Compare and contrast Porter’s diatribe against the reality of the letters.

  3. It must sound ‘so’ simplistic to merely say that Karen Porter just does not get it–we all know (in our hearts) that Karen (and all of those not-so-lovable leftists)never will get it!

It is an amazing thing to read her letter(s)–her lies smack you right in the face and her tone drips with condescension and self-pity. I don’t know about the rest of you–but it is certainly ‘painful’ for me to even read her dim dribble!

Most pointedly, she wonders how ‘anyone’ could read (or interpret) the warped (minds and message)of the CCPM after only ‘two observations’ on that corner! Here we go again–maybe we are simply taking those two observations ‘out of context’ just as we might have taken the Reverends comments ‘out of context’!

NO KAREN–AMERICA HAS HEARD THIS SAME OLD, TIRED ‘BLAME AMERICA’ AND ‘HATE AMERICA’ RANT FOR FAR TOO MANY YEARS NOW–YOUR ’270 SATURDAYS’ ARE A MERE ‘SIDE-SHOW’ IN THE ‘BLAME AMERICA EXTRAVAGANZA’ THAT SENSIBLE AND PATRIOTIC AMERICANS HAVE GROWN TIRED OF!!! THE TIDE IS ABSOLUTELY TURNING ON THAT CORNER OF WEST CHESTER!!!

THE WAY I SEE IT–KAREN IS SO UPSET (AND ENRAGED) BECAUSE SHE JUST CAN’T SEEM TO COME TO TERMS WITH THAT FACT!!!

Self-Appointed Founder, Director, Executive Director, Esquire and Commissar for Life – Porter will see that only her “truth” is acceptable in public forums.

It’s fascist is as fascist does.

All other opinions are not equally good and must be ruthlessly eliminated. Every now and then, she makes an exception for anything that bashes America, don’t you know.

  6. The peaceniks’ solution to the war IN Iraq (not the war WITH Iraq as indicated on their erroneous and treasonous web page) is a political one. They favor negotiation with known terrorists who will lie to the faces of American diplomats and then go out and plants IEDs along their own roads to kill Americans and their allies. The U.S. does NOT negotiate with terrorists. It is quite plain that any political solutions will only come after military victories.

Furthermore, I find it rather paradoxical that the peaceniks favor “talking with Iran” (as their signs indicate), yet their leader will not talk with Rich Davis. Rich must be worse that the radical Islamofacists in Iran.

  7. Based on Ms. Porter’s (CCPM) last letter, she obviously has a perception problem. My letter which she references, was not offered as any sort of expert. It described my honest observations of two rallies and my logical conclusions drawn from statements written by Ms. Porter. I now have doubts that she is familiar with either of these concepts (honesty & logic).

Further Ms. Porter apparently has a focus problem with regard to the March 22 incident. The focus of her reference should be, one of her members, a retired school teacher / public servant, assaulted a girl half his size. Not – was the girl a young girl or a somewhat young girl.

I will close with two last things.
First: Ms. Porter can be assured I am not using and do not have a direct line into her brain.
Second: When my current commitments are completed I will do as Ms. Porter suggests and get out more. At every opportunity, I will be proud to stand with CCVM supporting our Troops, America and Peace Thru Victory.

    Respectfully,
    Ed Kurth

  8. Touche, Ed! Good job in exposing Porter’s falsities.

  9. Porter has signs that plead “No War on Iran”. I heard an interview yesterday with the Commanding General of 3rd Infantry. He says that in the last 14 months he has lost 147 Soldiers to Iranian made Explosively Formed Penetrator type IEDs. He said that the forensics on the bombs indicate they were made in Iran, that evidence such as finger prints and toolmarks confirms they’re coming from Iran.

When will we see Porter in downtown Tehran holding a “No War On US Troops” sign? The answer is never because Karen Porter and CCPM do not support the troops. They do not care about the troops.

  10. Karen Porter is simply getting off reading these blogs about herself. In her twisted mind, she thinks that she must be very effective-because people are giving her attention.Porter really wouldn’t know what honesty is. She has never practiced it.
And about the 270 days spent on her “mission”-whoopee! Go figure, she doesn’t have a life-so she makes that corner her life. She is waiting for her purple heart-given her self importance.
Young woman? Older woman? Doesn’t matter. She is eaten alive with jealousy. She can’t bear to witness it.
Porter is the typical bully, idiot, liar, ignorant, self stated intellect.
Who on earth would ever desire getting into her ugly mind? She is flattering herself.
