WEST CHESTER PRO-TROOP RALLY – 4/30/11

Filed under: Rallies — Rich Davis @ 3:35 pm

Outstanding rally. The highlight was meeting two of America’s finest. Kevin, an active-duty sailor stationed in Maryland was visiting his girlfriend in West Chester. She is going into the Air Force in a month.

They were walking by and heard us singing the National Anthem and saying a prayer for our troops. Kevin said, “I’m in the Navy and I wanted to say thanks for doing this”. It looked like he had tears in his eyes. So we took this picture and thanked them for their service. We are always thrilled and honored when our troops stop to say hello.

You can see Kevin and his girlfriend in the background of these pictures. They were walking by on the other side of the street when they heard us singing the Star Spangled Banner.

Thank You Troops! Thank You Military Families! God bless them, protect them, and guide them to victory.

Some of the sights from Camp Lejeune, home of Marines since 1941. So many of our heroes have trained here and been deployed around the world to fight. It felt like sacred ground.

Thanks to all who picked up my slack while I was at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference. Special thanks to Nick for leading the group in singing the National Anthem and praying the Lord’s Prayer for our troops protection and success.

The “Salute the Troops” coin was passed from Nick to Howard, a Vietnam Veteran.

Salute to Craigg and Paula for taking the pictures.

See you next Saturday at High and Market St in West Chester, PA. God bless our troops and their families.

WEST CHESTER PRO-TROOP RALLY – 4/2/11

Filed under: Rallies — Rich Davis @ 10:15 am

Terrific rally, like the 4th of July without the fireworks. We met a lot of new people. Thanks to all who came out and made it happen.

One of the highlights was meeting these military family members. Dave is an Army Veteran and his 2 sons are in the Marines, he was with his wife and daughter (who is a school teacher), he said, “All my kids are productive, doing important things.” The other guy has 2 nephews in the Navy, both on ships, both graduated from the US Naval Academy. Then 2 Marines drove by and gave us a thumbs up.

After the rally we went to a local pizza parlor and met Debbie, a Navy mom. She lives in Chester Springs. Her son Jeff is currently onboard the USS Pearl Harbor (LSD-52) homeported in San Diego. He graduated from Downingtown East High School and joined the Navy 5 years ago.

At the end of the rally we passed the “Support The Troops” coin to Nick. It’s a great coin, shows all the branches of the service. We give it to a different person every week.

As our troops fight the fight for the freedom, they are not alone. We stand behind them. May God bless them and their families, protect them, and guide them to victory.

WEST CHESTER PRO-TROOP RALLY – 3/26/11

Filed under: Rallies — Rich Davis @ 9:16 am

One of our best rallies, saw many old friends and met some new ones. The weather was a bit chilly but the smiles were warm and it felt like a parade.

My mom showed up and held the flag for us as we sang the National Anthem and said a prayer for our troops protection and success.

Several newcomers showed up, including an EMT from Marple Newtown, Gail from Bethlehem, and Maureen’s friend.

Bob stopped by, he’s a Korean War Veteran from West Goshen. We are always thrilled when vets stop and say hello. Sheriff Bunny Welsh, a frequent participant, also showed up.

We signed a birthday card for Greg, a US Marine officer currently in Aghanistan. His parents, Ron and JoAnne, brought the card to the rally and we all signed it. Greg is a 1st LT, this is his second tour in Afghanistan and he just turned 26 years old. He’s done more for his country, faced more dangers and challenges in his young life than most of us have done in a lifetime. We are so grateful to Greg and all our troops and their families. They truly are the best of America.

Our mascot Victor couldn’t make the rally, but its always nice to come home and see him. He loves the troops so much, it makes him want to roll over and dance.

Thanks to all who came out and made it happen. We do these rallies every Saturday from 11AM till Noon, at the corner of High St and Market St in beautiful downtown West Chester, PA. Come join us sometime as we pay tribute to our brave troops.

Thank You Troops! Thank You Military Families! God Bless the United States of America!

A beautiful spring day greeted us as we stood together to show public support for our troops.

The highlight was a nice couple from New York who were in town to celebrate a birthday. They sang the National Anthem with us.

WEST CHESTER PRO-TROOP RALLY – 3/5/11

Filed under: Rallies — Rich Davis @ 3:32 pm

Outstanding weather and soft breezes kept our flags unfurled and looking good. Highlight included meeting some West Chester University students who were collecting money for their “Criminal Justice Club”. They all seek careers in law enforcement and a couple of them hope to be police officers one day.

Another highlight was when Tom drove by and gave us a honk and a thumbs up, turns out he’s active duty military, currently serving in the US Coast Guard. He’s local, went to high school in West Chester. We are always thrilled when our troops say hello.

We come out every Saturday to show open and public pride and appreciation for our troops and their families. All are invited to join us from 11AM till Noon at the corner of High St and Market St in downtown West Chester, PA.

At the end, we gather together to sing the National Anthem and say a prayer for our troops protection and success. This week Military Mom and Dad, Bill and Evie, from Coatesville, held the flag for us while we sang. Their son Jon is an Army Combat Medic, been to Afghanistan, and is currently in Korea. We are always honored when our military families join us.

Blue Star Mom Maureen bows her head in prayer. Her son John Paul is a young US Army Officer, been to Afghanistan and is currently stationed in Germany where 2 American Airmen were recently gunned down by an Islamic Jihadist at a bus terminal. No matter where our troops are in the world, they face risks and make great sacrifices for us. They are the best of us, our greatest patriots and they deserve to be remembered. We are forever grateful for their service and courage.

THANK YOU TROOPS! THANK YOU MILITARY FAMILIES! GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
